Health care industry leader, Alan Lotvin, M.D., to lead Care Clinic, Inc.

Care Clinic will open and manage new state-of-the-art walk-in retail health care clinics in Indiana, Michigan and Nevada

SOUTHFIELD, MI, October 3, 2006: Arcadia Resources, Inc. (Amex: KAD) a leading national provider of home care, staffing services and related home care equipment announced today that Alan Lotvin, M.D. has been named Chief Executive Officer of the company's new state-of-the-art retail health care clinic division, Care Clinic, Inc. Beginning in November 2006, Care Clinic, Inc. will open the first of 31 walk-in clinics in Indiana, Michigan and Nevada, providing affordable and accessible basic health care services to local community residents in locations that they frequent.

"We have found forward-thinking partners who want to make a difference in their communities," said Lotvin. "These clinics will not only bring non-emergency medical care to the communities they serve but will also be a health care resource for the underinsured and uninsured. They will provide basic health and wellness care in the convenience and accessibility of a familiar retail structure."

Care Clinic will offer a wide variety of services ranging from typical sick care to health and wellness screening tests. "Care Clinic will be a health care destination whether you have strep throat or you want to have your cholesterol checked," said Lotvin. "We want to enhance the patient experience. In addition to a nurse practitioner in each clinic, there will be someone to greet patients and help guide them through registration and assist them to determine which service(s) they may need."

The retail-based walk-in clinics, managed by Arcadia's Care Clinic, Inc., will be overseen by a medical doctor, staffed by nurse practitioners, and will provide routine non-emergency medical services such as:

  • Treatment of common illnesses such as colds, flu, allergies, ear infections, strep throat, and skin conditions
  • Laboratory tests such as cholesterol, HDL, glucose, strep throat, and mononucleosis
  • Health and wellness screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar
  • Vaccines such as Hepatitis A/B, Influenza, Meningitis, MMR
  • Referrals to health care specialists and/or services when necessary

"We are opening clinics in areas where emergency rooms and physicians are overwhelmed and time-conscious parents, working people, and older Americans are struggling to fit medical appointments into their busy schedules," said Lotvin. "Care Clinic will fill the gap for these underserved and hard-to-serve patients by providing access to health care seven days a week for the conditions that we treat."

Dr. Lotvin brings unique expertise to this venture. A cardiologist by medical training and practice, he also holds a graduate degree from Columbia University in Medical Informatics. Prior to joining Care Clinic, Inc., he was most recently President and Chief Operating Officer of M|C Communications, a leading medical education provider with global operations. Prior to that he was President of Specialty Pharmacy Services for Medco Health Solutions, where he held several senior management positions.

Commenting on the announcement of Dr. Lotvin's appointment, Arcadia Chairman and CEO John Elliott II said, "Dr. Lotvin's expertise in both medicine and business management will be invaluable both to this company and the day-to-day health needs of the consumers we serve. We are proud and excited that we were able to have him join the Arcadia Health Care family."
