Marvin R. Richardson, R.Ph.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Marvin Richardson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Arcadia Resources, Inc. He joined Arcadia in January 2007 when, as co-founder, President and CEO of Minneapolis, Minn.-based PrairieStone Pharmacy, he completed the sale of PrairieStone to Arcadia.
Richardson is a 32-year veteran of health care and retail pharmacy services. He started his career at age 16 in an independent retail pharmacy in his hometown of Anderson, Indiana.
He worked for the Walgreen Company for 10 years beginning in 1979 before co-founding Low Cost Health Care, where he was President and CEO for 11 years. The company owned and operated retail pharmacies as well as a long-term care pharmacy operation that serviced several thousand patients in Indiana. He later sold this multi-store retail chain and institutional pharmacy chain.
In 2000, he joined Rite Aid Corporation as part of a newly formed management team focused on the turn-around of its operations. He served as Senior Vice-President, Pharmacy Operations and was responsible for pharmacy operations and pharmacy technology for 3,600 pharmacies in the Rite Aid drug chain.
In 2003, he co-founded PrarieStone Pharmacy headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn. and served as President and CEO. PrarieStone focused on the implementation of automation designed to allow the pharmacist more time for patient interaction. The company was named “Chain of the Year” by Drug Topics magazine in 2005.
Richardson is a 1980 graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. He is former Chairman of the Long Term Care Committee of the National Association of Community Pharmacies and served on the Pharmacy Committee for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores. He has been an advisor to several major government leaders on healthcare policy, including Vice President Dan Quayle.
Matthew R. Middendorf
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Middendorf joined Arcadia HealthCare in January 2008 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Middendorf previously served as a consultant to Arcadia HealthCare, providing day-to-day financial and accounting support to the Interim CFO and working on special projects for the CEO. He has responsibility for internal and external reporting, planning and analysis, and corporate and business unit accounting. Mr. Middendorf formally served as the Corporate Controller and Director of Financial Reporting for Workstream, Inc., a publicly-traded software company. He worked in public accounting for more than a decade, most recently with Grant Thorton in its Seattle office; and, has significant experience working with mid-size companies in the technology, healthcare and banking industries. Mr. Middendorf holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and passed the CPA Exam in 1992.
John Brady
Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing
John Brady joined Arcadia through the acquisition of Prairie Stone in February 2007. As Executive Vice President for Arcadia Resources, Inc. he has been given responsibility for Sales & Marketing of all business segments. Mr. Brady has an extensive healthcare background that includes more than 14 years in the pharmaceutical and retail pharmacy industries. Mr. Brady co-founded Prairie Stone Pharmacy in 2003. Other experience includes Specialty Sales Manager for Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for NCS HealthCare. Mr. Brady received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University in 1992, with an emphasis in communications and marketing.
Cathy Sparling
Sr. Vice President of Administrative Services
Ms. Sparling joined Arcadia in 1990 and presently serves as the Vice President of Administration, overseeing many of the central services shared by Arcadia's various business lines, including Human Resources, Benefits, Contracting, Compliance, and Reimbursement. She has over 25 years of clinical and business management experience in the home care and medical staffing industries. Prior to her current position, Ms. Sparling previously served in management roles for Arcadia Services, Inc., encompassing business development, clinical services, contracting, quality assurance and compliance, and reimbursement. Ms. Sparling earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Michigan State University and has pursued graduate course work in business administration.
Michelle Molin
Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Michelle Molin joined Arcadia in October 2007 as part of the Executive Committee. As Executive Vice President and General Counsel, she advises and provides legal services to the corporate staff and operating management regarding commercial, corporate, securities, employee law and litigation. She was legal counsel and partner for 10 years at Ice Miller LLP, serving as the primary outside counsel for a large Indiana-based global manufacturing company with 14 subsidiaries in seven countries. Ms. Molin has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions as well as legal, firm and business management. She is a current member of the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, and the Indianapolis Bar Association. Her Juris Doctorate is from the Indiana University School of Law (Indianapolis) where she graduated Cum Laude. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.
Steve Zeller
Executive Vice President of Services
Steve Zeller brought 25 years of general management experience to his position as Executive Vice President of Services, joining Arcadia in September 2007. Mr. Zeller leads the long-term planning, oversight, and day-to-day management for Arcadia HealthCare services business line, which includes the company’s in home health care and medical staffing businesses. In addition, he provides guidance and direction to Regional/Divisional Vice Presidents to maximize growth and efficiency of operations; the development of new programs, and serves as a member of the corporate Executive Committee. Previously Mr. Zeller was President of BestCare Travel Staffing, LLC, an Arcadia Resources, Inc. affiliate, and was employed 18 years at Columbus, IN-based Cummins Inc., where he last served as vice president and managing director of a Cummins European-based subsidiary. Zeller holds his Juris Doctor from Indiana University, where he graduate Summa Cum Laude, and has a bachelor’s in economics from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
